RA 10172 and My (Mis)adventures (Part 4: The Ordeal )

April 20-21 (Saturday and Sunday)--this was the longest and the most boring weekend for me. That was also the most stressful one because I couldn't help but to think of what would possibly happen to my job. I just had filed for two days leave of absence, and now I had to be absent on Monday, the following week.

April 22nd- Monday.

I was accompanied by my two cousins to go to the Municipal Health Center to have the Municipal Health Officer's (MHO) signature on the “Special Medical Certificate”.

My parents and my siblings had gone to my(and my mom's) hometown a few days ahead of me. I requested them to bring the documents (the original copies and three photocopies of each) that I had prepared.

The last two weeks were the most stressful ones for me. After almost eighteen years, I finally had a chance to go back to Villanueva, Misamis Oriental, not to have a vacation, but to fix my birth certificate. As you guys might remember, my eighteenth goal to be accomplished this year is to fix the wrong gender entry on my birth certificate by virtue of Republic Act 10172.

KASALAN NA BA?

As I mentioned in my last post, my doctor advised me to stay at home and have my larynx (voice box) rest. Having nothing to do, I logged in to my Facebook account, browse a little and posted “I'm starting to like being a plain housewife”. After several minutes, I noticed that there were two people who “liked” my post. One of them was Kuya Rhex, my paternal cousin who commented “KASALAN NA BA LOT?”

Today, I remembered someone who had a soothing, magical voice that lulled me to sleep when I was young. That voice that I admired so much. That voice, that made this special person famous all over the world and made this person bag a lot of awards. That voice, that wonderful voice, that was stolen away from her several years ago before her death.

Goal # 28 Failed

I failed to accomplish my 28^th goal—to have a new look.

Last Saturday I visited Reyes Haircutters near our place to have a new hairstyle for a cheaper price. Since some of my co-workers encouraged me to try to have a curly hair, I asked the hair stylist to do so. I wanted to have a foot spa session as well because my feet become dirty and calloused.

Every year, our family has a tradition to gather together before the New Year countdown begins.  Each of us has to share about the lessons that we have learned, blessings that we have received, or events that were so memorable. And while I was listening to each of my family members, I realized that there were a lot of things to be thankful of.
